It starts calm enough, drifting past a themed sunken ship graveyard called Kraken Reef, then gets tense fast once you drop into Lucifer’s Trench and the ride’s namesake creature shows up. It’s a slow five-minute ride, not a thrill ride. The tension comes from mood and darkness, not speed.
Ride it if you want a lower-key Mysterious Island stop, or a partner ride for anyone who can’t handle Journey to the Center of the Earth. Skip it if enclosed, dark spaces are a hard no. You’re sealed in that pod the whole time, and the illusion only works because you never leave it.
